The Couture Closet serves as self-expression central at La Femme Institute. Members can elevate their wardrobe and find the perfect look for any occasion. Stocked with new to gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories donated by community partners, all items are available at no cost to Members.

You will have the opportunity to learn basic sewing and clothes repair, outfit styling and accessorizing, and how to “Dress for the Occasion.” We will be partnering with fashion schools and students, and local fashion/style influencers.

Sewing- hand and machine sewing
Embellishments- adding buttons, lace, sequins, paint, and fabric to your garments
Accessorizing-matching these items to your wardrobe: belts, handbags, scarves, jewelry, shoes, hats, and sunglasses
Occasion dressing- type of venue, fashion definitions, time of day
